I’m Berk Biryol, a passionate and results-driven Senior Software Engineer with a unique background bridging science and technology. Holding a Ph.D. in Geophysics & Seismology, I bring over 7 years of experience in full-stack web development, backend optimization, and cloud-native solutions.
My career has spanned projects in data-intensive environments, including large-scale database architecture, RESTful and SOAP APIs, performance tuning for SQL workloads, and containerized deployments using Docker, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines. I’ve had the privilege of providing technical consultation to organizations like the EPA and NIH, delivering high-quality solutions in regulated, mission-critical environments.
Beyond backend engineering, I’ve built modern front-end solutions using React, TypeScript, and GraphQL, created real-time dashboards for data visualization, and led initiatives to improve application performance, reducing load times by up to 10x in production systems. I enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior developers, and driving technical solutions from concept to deployment.
